i-Days: Student competition to tackle health challenges
EIT Health Innovation Days (i-Days) empower university students across Europe to tackle real-life healthcare challenges with creative solutions. DkIT is proud to host i-Days for the fourth year in a row, offering students the chance to collaborate, innovate, and compete at both local and European levels.
i-Days promote health innovation among university students through dozens of one-day and two-day programmes held in academic institutions around Europe. Students from all academic areas receive an introduction to practical health innovation tools and compete in teams to tackle real-life health challenges posed by EIT Health, local organisations, private corporations or start-ups. The winning team of each i-Day will attend the Winners’ Event, a final competition that unites students from around Europe.

2025 i-Days Theme
In 2025, our i-Days will focus on Psoriasis — a chronic, immune-mediated skin condition affecting around 73,000 people in Ireland. Psoriasis can have a profound impact on physical and mental health, yet stigma and underdiagnosis remain challenges. Students will explore innovative ways to improve the lives of people living with psoriasis.

i-Days Guide
EIT Health i-Days are designed to promote healthcare innovation amongst university students in Europe. During an i-Day students work together in multi-disciplinary teams on a Health Innovation Challenge, based on the real needs of users, patients or citizens. Students are also helped to reflect on and enhance their innovation skills, through facilitated exercises and by meeting inspiring speakers.
At the end of the Innovation Day, each student team pitches its ideas to a panel of experts. A winning team will be selected by the judges and invited to pitch again at the Winners Event. The overall experience will help nurture the creativity and confidence that young healthcare innovators need to develop new products and services that will make the world a better place.
